De-clutter Update

September 16, 2009 by Sharon Zambito 33 Comments

The saga continues….

Well, I have made some progress. I think.

I finally got the spare room cleaned out and organized. I wanted to take a picture of it before the clean up, because it was bad. Really bad. But in his zealousness, P-Hubby gutted it before I could snap the picture.

I have now converted it into my SugarEd office. The SugarEd stuff had overtaken my cake room, and the foyer, and the dining room, and part of the den. So it was time to give it a room of its own.

Now I have all my inventory, supplies, and 2 work stations in here. Even got my recliner so that after a long day at work, I can kick back and relax while watching the Young and Restless on nightly replay on Soap Net. (My one guilty pleasure.)

Ah, feels good , yes, to have this room done.

But where in the heck did all of the junk go? Oi vay:

Into my older son’s now vacant room. He took his furniture off to his apartment at college. So now it’s filled with crap I still have go through and organize and purge. I am working on it bit by bit.

Oh yeah, and there is some more in the hall.

Oh, and the dining room too.

Why does it seem that when you clean out rooms, you end up with more stuff than when you started?

And looky what I found!

An 18 inch square cake pan that I bought, oh, maybe 8 years ago? Maybe more? I held onto it thinking I might one day have an oven big enough to hold it, but alas I do not. It is time to say goodbye.

Anybody want it? You can see it is unused with the label still on it. Dusty too. I have never used that brand, so I cannot really say if it is a great pan or not. But the label says right there that it is a “darn good cake pan.” So there you go! But you are welcome to it.

If you would like to have this lonely underappreciated pan, drop a comment and I will draw a random winner next week.

Don’t you just love how I turn my old junk into give-away prizes? Classy, huh? 🙂

———————————-

Well, I am about to get real busy for the next 2 months or so, so my cleaning project will have to be put on hold for a while.

I am going to Kansas City this weekend for the Missouri ICES Weekend of Sharing, and I will check in with you guys next week!

Happy caking!

That cake pan sounds great! I hope my house don't turn into a cake storage anytime soon. My bed room is one already but, that's a different story!

    Loving the blog,

    Rafael 🙂

Sooo – there are others out there who's homes have been taken over by the cake fairies?? We remodeled my kitchen (now it is 27×15) and it is almost full now too. Hubby says he isn't adding on again….

I can put your pan to work Sharon, it will fit in my oven too!

And if you get as far north as Ohio, you are more than welcome to stop in and help me organize my stuff too!! 😉

My over will not hold an 18 inch pan either, but I'm sure you will find it a good home.

Your newly organized room looks great! I'm organizing slowly….very slowly. I used to watch Young & Restless at night on soapnet also but now I'm usually watching one of your DVDs! Wonder if I could play them at night while sleeping and "absorb" info the way they say you do on thosebrain wave CDs 🙂

If it makes you feel any better, I dump stuff in my son's room… and he's still living in it!

I don't want the pan (my silly little British oven can' accommodate more than a 12" pan), but I have some Marpol pans and I love them.

Your new office is beautiful. I agree that it seems once we clear out one room, where do we put the crap we pulled out of it.

I would love to give your pan a home too. I am making a huge cake in 2 weeks and this would come in very handy. I am luck that my oven is large enough, but my kitchen isnt much bigger than my oven. 🙂
